ORIGINS

Project NADIA / Adrianna was created by CHECKMATE in order to replace the Superboy should he ever fall off of the path of good.Created to be the governments failsafe to....their failsafe. A soldier, who had no free will. A weapon that would enforce laws and fight battles that a person with free will would refuse to.The director of ARGUS (Amanda Waller) personally wanted a weapon that could replace the need for Taskforce "X". (Why use a suicide squad when you had a weapon that could accomplish the mission without being killed or disposed of??)By using the DNA samples of various Aliens and Gods that had inhabited earth, CHECKMATE, ARGUS and CADMUS created a bio-weapon capable of destruction on an unprecedented scale...Before the project started, a spy working for Vandal Savage had reported everything they knew about project Nadia.The leader of Checkmate, (Maxwell Lord) Had other plans for Nadia. Create a weapon to wipe out the justice league. Many evil figures with agenda's were involved in what was meant to be a new Doomsday. Something worse. A silver bullet to destroy Justice.Once Vandal Savage knew about the project, he confronted Maxwell Lord.
The two came to an "understanding." A partnership. But Vandal had his own plans for the weapon. This would be his way to destroy another business partner of his own - Darkseid.Working in cohorts with DeSaad to overthrow the New God. DeSaad believed that this weapon would be the key to the Anti Life Equation. And so to be a double agent and eventually stab Savage in the back, he "betrayed" Darkseid.DeSaad gave Vandal the DNA he needed, which was later provided to CHECKMATE. And so the project...began. With the DNA of DRU ZOD, a war general from the planet Krypton, The DNA of Komand'r an exiled princess of the planet Tamaran, The notorious antithesis to the Martian Manhunter; Ma'alefa'ak, and of course the blood of the new Gods. The blood of Darkseid.

THE FIRST

The DNA was used to create the bio-weapon program, all of the DNA donors are not known, due to the amount of secrecy involved in the project. But the goal was to create the ULTIMATE lifeform. A being capable of standing up to the power of the Anti Monitor. Destroying the Justice league would be a feeble task at that point.During their first attempt at creating their weapon they did not succeed..it went horribly wrong. They created an abomination, a monster that went on a rampage and nearly caused the end of humanity as we know it. This monster was defeated by the Justice League after being wounded mortally and sent to the phantom Zone.

THE GENESIS FORMULA

After this failure, CHECKMATE abducted a scientist named Tove Blanchette who specialized in cross species genetics. She had created a serum said to enhance a users genetic makeup and allow them to absorb characteristics of other species and races and be able to stabilize them. This stockpile serum was called GENESIS.

THE BIRTH OF PROJECT NADIA

Instead of creating a clone, there needed to be a genetic template. And the Genesis formula would need to be present from the earliest stages of conception. A complication arose, in an effort to protect her researches secrets, Dr. Blanchette designed the serum so that only only her DNA would work with the serum.Though this was a roadblock, it turned out that Dr. Blanchette was already expecting. She and her boyfriend were unaware of this, but upon her abduction, CHECKMATE discovered this and intended to use it as leverage, instead they used it to create their weapon. And so the Genesis formula was given to the pregnant Dr. Blanchette.After she gave birth and got to see her child, the baby was taken away from her. Dr. Blanchette and her child were separated.

EARLY LIFE

CHECKMATE experimented on the child once she was one years old. Using the DNA they gathered, they slowly but surely continued to expose her to it as she grew. And for most of her life, she never saw the sun.The child was kept hidden, and the U.S. Military had no knowledge of her. When the FBI, CIA and other parties did get curious as to what CHECKMATE was working on, she was moved to a new location. A space station, where no one on earth could find her.Once she turned 10, they began field tests. Using her for various missions. Returning her to the space station for more tests afterwards. She would be put through many simulations, trained in hand to hand combat, marksmanship and lethal methods of assassination. The blood inside her, coming from many warriors and strong beings, she was adept.Keeping her locked away and wiping her memory after every mission, The girl was simply a tool being used by people who did not place any value on her life. She had no name. No Identity, and no past.

FALL OF THE STATION

By the age of thirteen, one fateful day, Darkseid would send Parademons to retrieve the girl. She was to become a fury, and be taken under the wing of Granny Goodness. During his assault on the space station, Steppenwolf would trigger the failsafe and the station would explode, destroying the Parademons and the crew onboard.The girl's body would drift in space, till she entered earth's orbit. The Justice League's own Supergirl (Kara Zor-El) would intercept the incoming debris of the spaceship, and notice the girl falling with it. When she woke, she saw Kara as a threat and attacked her. Being overpowered by the girl of steel unlocked some of her abilities. And the escaped Lab experiment known as Project Nadia would unleash that power in a concentrated punch that knocked out the Kryptonian, sending her into the pacific ocean. The girl would flee, and live in Jump City on the streets.

THE BIRTH OF VIGILANTE II

On the street, she could defend herself. But the teenager had no idea...where she was, or who she was. The thirteen year old with no name wandered around jump city. Unbeknownst to her, she was being tracked by Darkseid. More Parademons would go after her.She was being chased by a few of them when she met Adrian Chase a.k.a Vigilante. The man dispatched the Parademons and took the girl to a hospital. She had no wounds. The next day she was released into the custody of the state, and when given a name they just called her "Jane Doe".
The District Attorney would later adopt her. Upon realizing he was the man who saved her from the Parademons, she accepted, and he give her the name Adrianna Chase. He took her in, taking care of her. He had lost his own family when the mob used a bomb to kill them. He would teach Adrianna how to read, write, and enroll her in a special school. She was smart. But soon, her powers would begin showing. Adrian didn't know much about being a meta human, but he knew people that did. Adrian would ultimately decide to make her his protégé. Batman did it with Robin, he figured he could have a sidekick as well. She would be Vigilante II (Adri insisted.)

DEATH OF VIGILANTE

Adri would be taken away by Maxwell Lord only two years later. And Adrian would be killed my CHECKMATE. They staged his death to look as if he had taken his own life. Adrianna was brought back to a lab where they would try to contain her again.

THE TITANS

Upon discovering the death of Adrian Chase, the Titans, who also happened to be old friends of Vigilante (Before a falling out) had investigated his death. This led the team down the trail of mystery surrounding "Vigilante II". They would ultimately rescue her. Upon her rescue from Checkmate, Kara Zor-El would recognize her when she visited the tower. Adrianna was taken by the Justice League -- But the Titans fought back. Ultimately leading to an agreement that she could live in the tower, only after she spent a year in Themyscira with Wonder Woman to learn how to properly control her abilities. That on the surface just seemed to be strength and regeneration.

NADIA

When Diana learned more about her, she brought her back to Man's world and to the Fortress of solitude. This is where Kal-El used the fortresses resources to figure out where Adri came from. After they realized exactly what her DNA was....the Justice League had to figure out what to do. Batman came up with the idea to allow her to be a Titan and have her monitored by Martian Manhunter secretly.Adrianna would go to school for her remaining two years, and graduate. After this, she would help the Titans and Justice League on various occasions. Kal-El became sort of an adoptive father figure to her, and her primary mentor. She chose to model her hero career after his. Even living on the Kent farm for a while to get away from it all. Kara and Adri often clashed, a bit of a rivalry between them due to their first encounter. But Adri and Kara eventually became like family.Turning the name Nadia, as a reference to both hope and her past. She became her own force for good...

FIRST & LAST LOVE...

Meeting Jason Todd, she stopped him from killing a criminal who probably had it coming. Fighting him and standing in his way, the two of them would clash and battle till she eventually got him to submit. But...the two would soon form a friendship that budded into a romance. Leading to the two becoming an on and off couple. From this? A love that knew no timeline was forged. The two of them would move in together, and Adri would bare two children.... and for a short while, she thought she found her purpose in this world. To be in this family...despite the matter Jason would not marry her, she cared little about customs. She knew what she felt. She knew what they had... (That didn't mean she was happy not being married.) They had two twins, and both of them eventually retired from the life.

NEW BEGINNING

After the events of REBIRTH, Adri's history would stay mostly the same. But the difference was that she lost a few years and she was now 21 again. She had never met Jason....never had her two kids. Adri would be forgotten by everyone...and she would lose herself. Living in Faucet City as an Uber driver, humbly, unaware she had powers.When Barry Allen pulled Wally West back into the proper reality, others began to remember the past. The memories all correcting.... Friendships and relationships were restored. Adri would realize who she was...but she would also stay in hiding. Knowing the extent of her power... and the people who were after it... she thought it to be for the best. But her love and connections to her former friends...pulls her in.Someday, she would remind others who she was. But for now...she hides.
